Chicago Urban Leagues Shares Public Feedback about Police Superintendent Selection Process
On January 9, 2015, the Chicago Urban League hosted a Public Input Session where community members directly addressed members of the Chicago Police Board as it moves to hire a new Chicago Police Department Superintendent. Hundreds of concerned citizens packed the auditorium at Kennedy-King College to express their views on who the next Chicago Police Superintendent should be and what traits that individual should possess. The Police Board agreed to consider public input when finalizing their recommendation of three candidates, which will be submitted to Mayor Emanuel next month.
