Project Manager for iVote
Job Title: Project Manager for iRegister, iVote
Department: External Affairs
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
FLSA: Part-time Independent Contractor
Work Period: August 2024 – November 15, 2024
Role:
The Chicago Urban League is seeking a Project Manager for its iRegister, iVote initiative to raise awareness of key issues in the 2024 General Election and increase voter registration, early voting, and election day turnout. The Project Manager will manage the implementation and execution of the 100-Day iVote, iRegister Plan. This is a temporary, part-time position that will require 20 – 30 hours a week at a pay rate of $50 per hour.
Primary Responsibilities:
Partner and Volunteer Management
- Liaise with representatives from other Urban League affiliates across Illinois and surrounding states to coordinate and share ideas on voter registration, education, and turnout activities
- Serve as primary contact for the National Urban League’s Reclaim Your Vote efforts, including working with the Voter Activation Network database (VAN) and other resources
- Identify and engage community organizations to serve as partners in voter registration, education, and turnout efforts
- Manage volunteer list and scheduling volunteers as needed
Event Planning and Execution
- Plan and organize voter registration events and issues forums, working closely with External Affairs
- Coordinate with external partners to publicize events
Reporting
- Maintain the iVote webpage with relevant resources, events, and updates
- Use available resources to gather and compile data on voter registrations and early voting
- Host weekly Zoom to provide updates on iVote, iRegister activities and outcomes
- Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 – 3 years of project management experience required
- Strong writing skills required
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with various audiences, both one-on-one and collectively
- Ability to multi-task effectively
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Ability to attend in-person meetings and events
- Professional demeanor
